Question on changing plugs/coils/wires

'02 F-150 4.6L V8
I am planning on changing out a bad ignition coil and plugs, but I am told that there are no plug wires, only coil to plug boots. The charge has to get to the coils somehow. What am I missing? Any thougts/suggestions on a good place for parts? O'reilly's is telling me that there are no wires, only boots (or at least that's all they carry).

Yeah it misfires sporatically, and when I took it to AutoZone and hooked it up, it stated a misfire in #6. But when I took it to Ford, they stated a misfire in #8. I'm gonna go with Ford's computer.

Actually, I was going to change the plug wires also.

I Beleive the 2000 4.6 V8 was the last year that motor had plug wires, soooo - U dunhavanyofdose
They call them COP systems nowadays. The #1 reason these go bad is if they get wet - even if your battery is unhooked and in another state, you still cannot get these wet.
With your milage, for them to go bad they must have gotten wet somehow. The Coil pack does not exist on your your motor anymore, as said you have COP's = Coil On Plug = 8 COILS , 1 per cylinder. Just coils and boots on your plugs.
I would get that kit on ebay like most people do here and replace all.

Good Luck
