New here...also have a question (misfire)

Hi everyone. My name is Kevin and just registered here. I have a '01 Ford E250 with a 5.4. Not a F150, but it's the vehicle that I need for work and towing my toys around I also own a Buick TType, which is the colorful version of the Buick Grand National (it's white, hence the name White T.)

Anyways, my E250 has about 130K miles on it. So far, I have very minimal problems from it. I replaced the fuel pump this summer and replaced the idle control motor a few years ago. That's it

Well, today it started to misfire. At first it was not too bad. It got worse as the day went. I started to replace the plugs (original) then came inside to do a search on my problem. I like to do things backwards sometimes. My search landed me here. Looks like I may have a possible cop problem. How can you determine which one? I did a resistance test, I know this usually tells nothing. All cop's turned out OK. I would replace all of them, but that is a little pricey. My search on here found that they can be had on EBay for cheaper. Problem is that I need this vehicle back up and running asap so I don't miss more work. Any suggestions?

TIA

I was having misfire issues as well. I initially replaced plugs and installed Mike Troyer's ignition upgrade kit. Still had intermittent misfiring. I replaced fuel filter, still same but better. Then replaced all four o2 sensors, and cleaned the MAF with contact cleaner. Problem solved so far.
I used original COPs when installing ignition upgrade, but used gobs of dialectric grease in the boots. I suppose replacing COP's can't hurt, and with some of the ebay deals listed make it cost worthy, however I would also look into o2 sensors.

good luck.
