sparkplug problem

I have a 99 f150 4x4 5.4 and decided to change the plugs. I got # 1 and 2 done , when I got to cylinder 3 I couldnt get the socket onto the plug so I got a mirror and flashlight thinkin maybe this would let me see what going on. ANyway there seems to be a piece of medal jammed next to the plug right by where the socket would sit. Now I cant change plug 3 and the coil will not sit on the plug either. can someone help me out here b/c i'm getting very pissed.

My first suggestion is to stick a magnet down there and see it you can pull it out.

Next, try a long screwdriver with grease or backwards tape on the end.

If it is wedged in there, then how about a hangar?

yea I tried the screwdriver and magnet and they didnt work. I'll have to try the hanger that might work. It seemed to be jammed down there pretty good though

It must be part of the rubber boot off the COP assembly or maybe a rock.

Maybe a scribe with a 90 degree end can get below it and you can force it out. WD40 wouldn't hurt either

do you have and air compressor..? stick a long copper tube inside it and blow it out... just make sure you dont have your face or any objects near where it might fly out and hurt you... i blow out my spark plug hole every time.. i change my plugs.. that way no dirt falls into the engine and winds up possibly scratching the pistion walls in the block

I don't know where you live but at Big Lots sometimes called Odd Lots there is a tool that you can use to pull spark plugs out. It is essentially a long thin flexible spring with a claw on one end and a push button to open and close the claw. I used this on to get a motorcycle spark plug out. it worked great and was only like 2.00. Hope this helps
