I hate my truck!!!!!

After doing all of my changes, the bitch finally starts to shake and the light flasses 11 times straight, with a good few minutes in between the next set of 11. Now it is shaking bad, again, and the light wont stay on and autozone wont check it unless it is on.

Ya know, ya just need to take her in and get her scoped out. I mean, don't hate your truck just because it is sick. Think of it as a kid or spouse. Ya don't hate them when they get sick do ya? After is is determined what is wrong, then you have the option of fixing it yourself, or having a mechanic do it.
Good luck. and happy Ford trucking!

Your gota fashinging twice

first set of flashes = code pending.

second set = code set.

Go get it read at auto zone - I remeber saying to you as I do every one with high miles and COP ("misfire") issue's - "Replace them all" or you 'll headaches..

Search this forum - Type "Misfire" in the search bar at the top of this page.

You'll find links to all the COP deals.

That counting flashes garbage is old school. Flashing in any case means you've got a misfire severe enough to damage a catalytic converter if left unchecked.

Try another Autozone; just 'cause the light isn't on doesn't mean that the PCM hasn't stored a continous code.

You most likely have a bad coil and possibly a fouled plug also from not firing and getting load with fuel. Forget that autozone garbage and have a dealer scan it and tell you whats wrong with it. I know you have to pay them to do it but I have seen way to many people go there because its free and get told the wrong information buy the wrong parts and then are out the same amount of money if they just would have had the dealer diagnose it. You most likely will be able to fix it yourself with the help of the people here in the forums.

I know what you mean , the reader spits out one code- you have to write it down. Auto Zone will try to give the definition of the code number, that's when they get it wrong...On the OBD 2 Scan Tool auto zone uses - make sure the guy/girl pushes the "arrow up" button to see other codes if any.
You can purchase a new set of COP's & Plugs for $130, I would do that before throwing your money away at the dealer.

buddmann - he already replaced a COP within the last couple weeks- #1 was bad then..

Light finally stayed on this morning. Took it in and the code was P0403. #4 misfire. Good thing is I can get to it , I have a COP already to open and just need to buy the motocraft spark plug. should be an easy job.
