How do you know if a fuel pump is going bad or what are the symptoms of it? I have a 1998 F-150 with 36,000 miles on it? Thanks Nick

 

symptoms: Truck dont run.

I've seen a decent number of other truck's fuel pumps go bad, and they were all "hard failures"

BTW, a '98 with 36K?... there are probably alot of other things going wrong with that old of a truck with such little mileage... old gas?

 

If it idles good, and you hit the gas and it stumbles, its a sign of a weak pump.
