Plug wire length

Hello all,

Hope someone can help me with identifying which sparkplug wire goes to which cylinder.

I've got a 97 with a 4.6l and just opened my box of replacement motorcraft plug wires. These wire's don't have the cylinder numbers on them like the originals so I'm having a hard time figuring out which wire would go to which cylinder.

If I laid the wires out from shortest to longest, does anyone know the cylinder order?

thanks

Just take one of the old ones off and match it up with the closest new one and put it on then go to the next one and so on and so on.

I have two pics of the coil packs in my gallery, but could not link them for some reason. First two pics in the Powerdyne gallery. The drivers side coil pack has been relocated to above the pass side, but the wires are still the same.

Hello all,

I actually changed the original wires a couple of years ago and did a poor job installing the replacements and have a few wires that are way too long. So I purchased motorcrafts hoping they would be labeled.

Does anyone have an old set of original motorcrafts that you can lay out from shortest to longest and let me know the corresponding cylindar numbers?

thanks

not even the motorcrafts are specific length.. the longest one runs from the drivers side to the number 4 plug in the passenger side rear.. my MSD's are perfect length.. no extra slack in the line.. there nice
