heres my situation, my truck is REALLY hard on gas... getting about 10mpg, i only got 14-15 before, but 5mpg is a lot, so i got a code reader, and it read, p0442, and p0102, i was told one was my mass air, so i cleaned it well, and put the code reader back on...now the code reader wont connect to my truck??? anyone know why this would be.... reader still works fine i tried it on my chev, for some reason it just wont connect to mine anymore.. i tried several times and checked for loose wires..if anyone can help id greatly appreciate it

also if anyone knows what the other code is... and my maf cleaning did not fix the problem because its still really hard on fuel, am i doomed to buying a new one???

 

What year/model/engine truck do you have. If you have a 97/98 f-150 check the #24 fuse (30 amp), the PCM Power Relay and the PCM Power Diod in the Power Distrubution Box, under the hood. Also check the #30 fuse (30 amp) in the Junction Box Fuse Relay Panel inside the cab. Thers is also a 5 amp fuse in the Engine Fuse Module behind the Power Distribution Box.
