A clicking or rattle sound at low RPMs 05' 5.4 V8
I just bought a 05' F-150 supercrew lariat edition, it has about 9300 miles on it. When at low RPMs it sounds like there is a small rattle or clicking noise, to me it sounds like maybe it is the engine kicking something on and off, but possibly something bad??? When I listen underneath the hood I can barley hear it but when I stick my head underneath the body it sounds like it is by the exhaust. Any knowledge, suggestions, or help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Empty the beer cans out of the glovebox?
If it sounds like it's coming from the exhaust the catcon might be messed up, but with only 9k miles that's pretty unlikely. Does the clicking increase with engine speed, at least in that RPM range?
There might be a loose bracket or clamp somewhere in the exhaust line, and the pipe is rattling around, making the clicking noise. Check that.

I was listening to it today, it seems to get louder when shifted into reverse, I can't hear it when I am standing in front with the hood up, if get low down by where the bed and cab meet it sounds really loud. then it will go away when i shift it back into Drive. Any advice????
P.S. I wish it was only the beer cans!!!
