Just a quick question to any mechanics that may frequent the board...

I live in Arizona and own an '01 4.6 F150. It was throwing a code so I took it to a mechanic who said that the Lower Manifold Intake Gasket needed to be replaced. He quoted me $350 to fix it (5 hours of labor). Is this a fair price? More specifically, is 5 hours labor a reasonable estimate?

 

what was the code and what are your symptoms.. but the lower plenum gasket is simple.. theres about 9-10 bolts that are acceable from the top u can unbolt. let the plenum fall down pull the gasket out. and put the new one in.. saves u from havin to remove the entire intake manifold
