ported heads

is it possible to port stock 2002 f150 5.4 liter heads? WIth that and cams would it be worth porting it?ANd ALso how much would it be to port them?

i know a guy who port matches for 400 bucks if u have the gaskets and everything

im sorry im kinda new to this but whats port matches? and is that like a normal price?

Porting involves matching up the openings of the intake and heads to allow for better flow. That's what porting really means...

The factory intake and exhaust ports don't always match up the mating manifold. Port matching is where you grind the head ports to match manifold ports or vise versa. Porting is much more envolves as they can reshape the passage inside the head. A port match job can be done with a couple hours and a dremel, it isn't that hard or complex.
