Question Tune Up on a 1997 4.6L?

My 1997 F150 (188,000mi!) is losing a little pep. How hard is it to change the plugs and wires? Think that might help pep her back up? What else should I do at that mileage?

If you have the right tools, it's not too bad. I didn't, and it was a major pain. A buddy of mine did it in less than a hour the next time.

make life easy

I am 5'6" and used to have to use a step stool to change plugs. It usually takes me 2 hours to change plugs. 1 hour to do the back 2 plugs on the right side and 1 hour to do the rest. I had plug 4 (right side back plug) go bad right after a tune up and was not in the mood to spend a lot of time pulling that plug. So I let the air out of the front tires and changed the plug in 10 minutes.

The next tune up I changed plugs and wires took 1 hour total. It sounds crazy but letting the air mout of the fronts lowers the truck about 6 inches. If you do not have a compressor just remove the front tires.
