engine knocking

hey guys!! i drive a 98 F-150 5.4L, 99,000 km and i have a distinct knocking noise coming from the engine. it does not go away after the engine is warm. pllllllleeeeeeeaaaaaaaassssssse help me with this......Jimi.

go to a local shop and get a free inspection. Prolly your best bet with that problem description lol

knocking

Rev the engine and let off the gass, if it is louder as the engine decellerates it is probably a rod bearing. Try to use a stethascope to pinpoint it if you can.

My 97 4.6 was knocking when under load pulling a trailer. I cleaned the MAF and knocking completely stopped. CRC makes a MAF cleaner spray you can get at the local auto parts store.
