5.0 swap into 06 4.2l f150

Hey guys I recently had the idea of making a sleeper out of my 06 f150 stx, possibly swapping the 4.2l with this: http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=7368 , the main concern being if I were to do it would the stock transmission/backend bolt up and be strong enough? If I went this route I'd prob eventually supercharge it.. I'd appreciate it if some of you engine gurus would chime in and throw me some advice...

I have to ask...

why would you buy a brand new truck and put a 5.0 in it. don't get me wrong, I love the 5.0, but wouldn't this void any warranty that you might have on your 06? What are the 5.0's rated at? the 4.2, 4.6, and 5.4 were designed to be put into these trucks. Wouldn't a 4.6 or 5.4 be a better choice? Maybe there is something I am missing here. If so, please enlighten me.

The installation notes are talking about installing it in Mustangs. Is there something that tells you how to install it in a new truck?

Then why do something as small as a 5.0? Why not go with a 351, or even a 392 stroker? Don't worry about the stock trans, as it will not bolt up to the 302/351, so you will have to change it anyway. Rear end should be fine until you supercharge it.

You could also go with a 460.

No, the 4.2 is the same bolt pattern as the 300, 302, and 351w. The 4.6, 5.4, 6.0 and 6.8 are the other pattern.

I'd do a 351 personally.

You are right - I read that too fast and thought he said 4.6.
