What year? The PI intake from the truck will give you a lot more low end torque. The mustang and truck PI cams are the same profile. So you would gain nothing. Assuming you have a 2003, you wont gain anything by swapping intake manifolds from anything. A nice set of comp cams, or stage II heads would be the way to go.

hmm wow ok, I was trying to find out where the 30 hp less is coming from. The mustang is rated at 260 and this truck has the same parts, so doesnt make much sense.

Intake manifold, exhaust setup and tunning are where differences are. The truck intake manifold is designed for more low end torque than a car intake manifold is. The Mustang has better flowing exhaust manifolds and a true dual setup where your truck has a single flowing somewhat restrictive exhaust. and the tuning of the truck is set up for better low end power as well.
the non PI truck motors had IMRC which is kinda pwn! its like vtec gives u about a 30HP kick at 3300rpm.

haha its nothing special just intake manifold runner controls. it shortens the length of the runners 4 inches and helps top end power.
