What is this hose?

Does anyone know what this hose is?

I noticed that it shows a lot of wear and was going to replace it. The guy at AutoZone didn't know exactly what it was other then it was part of the emissions system and they did not carry it. Also I have not checked the green connector on the end, but is there a special trick at getting it off? The other end looks like it just goes over a piece on the throttle body.

I am assuming that I will have to get it from Ford.

My truck info:
2001
F150 x-cab
2wd
4.6L V8

looks like a vacume line and the hose itself looks like standard hose that is available at any autoparts store. just pull the hose and hit a napa or whatever is close to you. should be a 5 minute job tops.

Mine looked like crap too. Its involved in your evaporative system. I replaced mine with red silicone hose that I had laying around from another project, but any ol rubber line of the same size will do

That is the line that carries manifold vacuum to the evaporative purge valve. The hose is common vacuum line, however, the connector at the valve is not.

Thanks for the responses!

I was afraid that the connector might be an issues. From what other people have said they just replaced the hose, with just the same size hose. So does this mean that that green connector is part of the valve and not the hose itself?

The green connector just has a barb style end on it. You can pull it off the hose. Its a piece of cake
