Question Timing Advance Mystery....

I have a 92 F150 with a EFI 302 V8 in it. I have a problem I think with the timing advance. It is backfiring through the intake when I try to accelerate, and it has no power at all. I bought a diagnostic tool and read the codes and ended up replacing just about every electrical componant I could think of: EGR valve and Sensor, Distributor, Knock Sensor, PCM Module. I can't think of anything else the problem could be. So this is my last ditch effort before I break down and take it to a shop. If anyone has any insight or suggestions it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

It sounds like the timing is very retarded. I've also seen bad map sensors cause similar issues. Also check for air/vaccuum leaks if it equiped with a mass air meter.
