Exclamation Read Only If You Know Your ****!

Just got an 06 5.4 SCrew it F-in rules!

I want to do alot of proformance upgrades (some in the mail right now...hell yea) but Im still in the dark on my biggest possibility. Does anyone know about a stand alone ecu for my truck. I will have a full computer installed soon and I would like to run the program using windows.

Is this possible?
Where can I find a windows program and or the unit/harness to hook the computer to the engine diag. port? Whats the best option?

SIDE Q's...

Anyone found a good set of proformance nitrous/turbo cams? (is there a big difference)

Anyone heard of a rear mount turbo/2turbo on a 04-up 5.4 150?

Thanks for any info,
Rich

If you want GOOD nitrous/turbo grinds, call up mike troyer, he will grind you the best cam imaginable for what you want. Sts makes universal kits for trucks, so it would be more of a custom kit, but its possible, or do it your self. You could make your own twin turbo conventional mount though, yes its possible. For your computer questions, "FAST" makes the computers you want, but not sure about for your year being as it is so new.

Comp cams makes a cam for the 3 valve engine. There is no remote turbo "bolt on" that I know of. You could google stand alone engine management and it will list most of what is out there. Don't forget that you will need a base tune just to get the engine started. Also don't forget that the PCM controls the tranny. As was suggested your best bet is to contact Mike Troyer.

installing a computer with Windows in your truck? you are sadistic - the blue screen of death just took on a whole new meaning!

btw - try google - there are plenty of products for hooking up computers to your OBDII port. Don't come crying to us where your COPs get the slammer worm though.

make sure to add liquid Norton Anti-Virus with every fill-up.

Although I try to learn as much as I can from my sh*t, sadly, it all ends up being flushed down to the porcelain gods.
