Plug Boot Stuck

Had a P0304 (misfire #4 cyl.) on my 98 F-150 5.4. Got a COP from Autozone and when to replace it. When I when to install it (using silicone dielectic compond on boot end) it didn't seem to sit in the location correctly so I pulled it back out only to find the boot stuck on the plug. I have tried everything I can think of to get it to release from the plug. Please I need some ideas how to get it out of there. Thanks, Dana.

Never mind. I used a small round rod and put it between the boot and spark plug and ran it around the curcumference. It helped release the boot and all is well.

From: Georgia on my mind...
Usually, you can grab hold of the boot with a long pair of angled needle nose pliers and spin it a half turn or so. The boot should break loose after turning a little. Pulling the coils with a little heat in the engine seems to make 'em easier to remove from the plug wells in one piece as well.
