Am i measuring this correctly?
Am i measuring this correctly?
"insert perveted joke here" lol

from my measurements the intake valves are 46mm in diameter and the exhaust valves are 38mm in diameter. am i measuring these correctly. im measuring the valve head size where it would seat in the head.

heres an extra one.. when u get your u joints replaced.. take it to a drive shaft shop and get it done.. u cant use the old method of jam it in a vice and beat them out with a hammer. and u will need good quality u joints spicer brand is recomended. i had a rear end vibration at about 80-85mph shortly after having a shop put new u joints in my drive shaft at about 130K miles. they were TRW brand well.. turns out they crammed it in a vice and beat them out. which is what i thought to be standard method well.. it bent the drive shaft and it had 40 thousandths run out.. the driveshaft shop was reable to balance my drive shaft but i will need a new one shortly because i still have a vibration at 90mph. so im looking at saving up for a 2 peice drive shaft. which handles more power and eliminates all driveline vibrations u can feel. but heres pics of it. i took it off cleaned it up to take it to the shop " drive shaft king" in dallas they charged me 62 bucks for 2 new u joints and a balance.. damn good deal. the driveshaft had alot of undercoating on it and 142,000 miles of road grime on it.. its all purdy now i think i scrubbed near a pound of crud off of it

HI!... Is that a aluminum driveshaft? If it is I strongly suggest you scrap it and get a good steel or chrome mole one made up. Slicks and aluminum driveshafts + heavy truck don't mix. I had a heavy duty race steel driveshaft made up for my truck. 4 inch in diameter and will hold 1600H.P/1600FT/LBS of TQ. The guys at 401 MACK told me if I break it, they will replace it for free.

After further review and measuring, my first response was correct. In my case, my intake is specified at 46.83, and that's what I got when I miced an intake valve. The actual intake opening where you measured in your pics was 47.91 for mine.

yeh when i first measured them they came out to 48mm also.. then i measured them again at a different angle n got 48. but im almost sure i can get the valves all the way to the lip. i might just take the head to mark have him tell me what valves it needs.
