I purchased this truck for my son, used. He drove to work today, part of drive belt came off and the "check engine" light came on. I went to check truck, drove to an auto parts store they did a diagnostic on it it came up with " camshaft position sensor. Could the sensor be a result of the belt failure?

 

I guess if the belt shredded and flew apart, damaging the cam sensor and/or it's wiring, yes, it's possible.
