Go to the Motorcraft website and run down the coolant charts for all the cars and trucks.
Their all in full color.
Look under chemicals.

Can't go wrong with Zerex G-05, its the OEM fluid. I like the 50/50 premix stuff, usually Supertech or whatever's on sale, its very easy to use. If you drain and fill the radiator it takes two gallons to refill. It will take a couple of beers to completely drain and you may want to let the truck cool off if you've been running it. I do this every 10k-15K, its cheap and easy to do.

Just be sure to use DISTILLED water like the manual says, and not tap. Many a scale can occur from tap water.

I add either Royal Purple's Purple Ice, or Redline's WaterWetter to mine. More water, less antifreeze.

I am thinking about putting the regular green stuff back in there because I hear the orange stuff can be acidic and not so good for the motor what is everyone's take on that?

Read your owners manual and look at the spec that is called for. Green stuff is not all the same anymore. The Prestone (green) Long life no longer meets the Ford spec in spite of what is says about all makes etc on the bottle.

I started a thread here on this last week and have not been getting any good answers. A search off site yields a lot of conflicting info but it seems to all point to the issue of the long life stuff using different chemicals and some seem to think that they dont work as well for the copper radiators or water pumps on our older trucks. Zerex old formula was the only thing I could find other than Motorcraft that actually states that they meet the Ford Spec ESE-M97B44-A. Prestone "kind of" indicates on the web site that they meet it but it turns out (confirmed by two Prestone reps) that the web site is refering to the old Prestone product that is NO LONGER MADE. Check your manual to see if this is the spec called for in your truck.

One site I looked at refered to the fact that the "old" anti-freeze is green only because of an old automotove spec that called for a unique dye color that could be identified on the driveway.

Good Luck
