98 4.6l

Looking at a 1998 f150 for my little brother. Guy said there is something wrong with the 3rd cylinder; it has a little bit of a ticking noise. Anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be, and what it would take to fix it (money and mechanical wise)??? Going to drive it tomorrow, but some insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

Well if it sounds like an exhaust leak then it could be a plug coming loose. I would pull the coil and check the torque 7-14 lbs.
