No Start / Hard Start
I'm new here, 95 F150, 5.0 4X4. I got the truck last winter and it started great all winter but come summer on a nice hot day the damn thing turns over quite a bit before starting. This only happens when the truck is sitting there not running, once it starts I can turn it off, go into the store and when I come out it starts great. So it has nothing to do with the engine being hot!!!
Winter time it starts great!!! Only happens when it's about 75 degrees or hotter outside. I was told it might be the temp sensor and it's flooding it when it's hot out?????????????????????
The latest problem, for the past month or so it sometimes give me the "click" when I try to start it. After a few turns of the key it starts. So I changed the solenoid on the fender. Still getting the click, then a few days ago nothing but a click, it won't start. I get a new starter (broke the top bolt when removing my old starter, had to drill it out !@#$%^) I finally get the new starter in and still just a click. Now this is just one click with the turn of the key.
My next step I guess is to start testing the wires!
Any suggestions.
Also can someone tell me what wires go to the starter, red from battery to starter, small wire from solenoid to starter? Is there no ground? (I guess that might be a stupid question since there’s no where to hook it to the starter)
