Trouble removing A/C Compressor

I'm trying to remove an a/c compressor from my friends truck and we're having problems getting the old one out.. It's a tight squeeze and looks like steering linkage needs to be moved. Is there an easier way?

a truck you say, hmmm, i assume its a f150 but i think a year and model will let people give you the correct info and tips.
