indy coil code question
indy coil code question
i have an 01 f150,4.6L,4x4,aod,my question is,the codes on my coils end with AA,when i look up an interchange on the computer at the junkyard that i work at,it says that they should be interchangeable with a 99 expedition with a 5.4L.problem is,their codes end with AB.i know duel cam 4.6L engines coils end with AW and won't work, but what about the AB ones, maybe if i switch them all.also, whats an easier way to find the quiter then just switching one and goin for a ride and movin it to the next hole.
thanks
thanks
They should exchange just fine, FoMoCo has several part numbers for the same part. The coils are one of the most obvious examples of this. Some have a green top, some have a yellow top, but thats about as far as the differences go.
Switching the coils one at a time is about your best option unless you want to spend the money on replacing all 8 coils....

so i found out that it does make a difference.it depends on which windsor you have.the aa or the ab.the difference in coils is there is a little lip on the inside of the ab coils that if need be,you can grind down.but for 40 bucks at pep boys, who cares.
