I've had good luck with Accel coil packs that I purchased from Troyer performance a few years back.. I have about 70k on them, and they have been flawless.

Don't mess around with replacing one at a time. Do them all.
From what I've read once one goes down the rest will follow.
Be sure to inject dielectric grease in the boot, in the connector socket, and smear a little around the sealing flange to help keep water out of the spark plug well.

I bought a brand new set of eight coils off E-Bay for about 100.00. They've been installed for about 2 months now. No problems.

I have both a Lincoln Mark VIII and a 06 F150 5.4 truck. Both have coil on plug designs. On the Lincoln the plugs and wiring are protected with a cover and gasket. A day or two after washing down the engine I had 2 coils go bad. The dealer replaced them under warrenty and said the plugs holes had a lot of water in them. The cover and gasket don't make a good seal. A year or so later I washed the engine again and had another coil go bad, More water in the plug hole even though I tried not to spray water on or near the cover. Now I remove the cover and the coils when I wash the engine and blow everything dry with an air hose. No problems in the past 5 years. The point here is the coils don't like getting wet. and the plug/coil installation is not waterproof.

Do what you can to keep the coils dry and I'd suggest just replacing the bad ones.

This is a brief addition to my reply above. I say just replace the bad coils because I still have 5 of 8 original coils and my Lincoln is a 97. Hope this helps.
