wondering????
Depends on who you ask...some people are convinced the 4.6L is a better engine.
But nearly every person I have heard of that has gone from the 4.6 to the 5.4 said it was worth the change.
Oh and I am not saying the 4.6 is a bad engine...its a very good all around engine, but if youre looking for power, get the 5.4

If extended warranties cost $2000 then Ford is making $1,000 on each.
If the 5.4 costs $1,500 more, then Ford thinks the 4.6L is sub-par by $750.
Some owners needed it.
Some owners just wanted it.
Some owners figured they could live without it.

Just some numbers gleaned off Ford from different sources.
The torque converter for the 4.6 has a multiplication ratio of 2.3:1 and a stall speed 2105-2505.
The 5.4 has a multiplication ratio of 1.9:1 and a stall speed 1830-2190. They both use the same automatic tranny so that just shows you how much more power the 5.4 makes and at a lower rpm.
