Engine Size?
I found a 1976 Ford Truck, not sure of size, but the not sure what the motor is. It doesnt look like any 351 i have ever seen so i dont think that is what it is. Im pretty sure its not a big block cause it really doesnt look any bigger than a 351. Know i know they used 390s also that year. How can i really tell what the motor is. Does anyone know where i can look on the motor and tell?

It's probably the 360. looks just like a 390, just a different crank.
It could have the 400 in it however..... But, I don't think those started showing up in the trucks until 1977??
The valve covers should tell you. If they are kinda tall but narrow, it's the 360/390. If they are short and wide, it's probably the 400....

If it isn't a 302 it should be a FE of some type. No external differences between a 360 and 390. You have to measure the stroke to be sure. Here's our 352 which also looks the same. Count the valve cover bolts to confirm an FE.
