I gota tell that I owned a 76 F250 HD Super Cab with a 390 4 barrel from the factory.
Wished I had that truck again today. It would out pull any of FORDs v8s of today under any of the same load conditions without being modified in any way and get the same or better fuel mileage and no overdrive.
When I got it used I thought it was a 427 the way it ran on the way home till I varified it was a 390. Man what a truck!
16.5 rims, floating rear axle, big-big brakes etc. The suspension made it feel like a little 1/2 ton.

Before that I had a 76 150 SC new with a 360 that could not pull a **** ant off a hill.

I built many and they make nice power. The torque is unbelieveable.
Nice cam, intake, maybe a set of aluminum heads, headers, and a good old Holley, or Edelbrock 650 or 700 and you have a real beast on your hands.
I think it is a good idea. Let us know if you pursue it...
Marc is that to hard to install a ford 6.8L v-10 in a 2005 F-150 with a 5.4L ?
Thanks.

I agree.I've had both and the 460 is twice the motor that the 5.4 is.

I thaught about throwing this into the truck for fun, seeing how my car project was at a stand still with body work, but then things picked up so I decided to keep the 5.4 and do one day a real modern hot rod with it. I still think it's an easy way to get 650 hp's!!!!, Let us know how you make out, it would be wild for sure and you'd get my

Just put the Triton V10 in there. Bolt compatible with the transmission, similar engine management system. Should be a piece of cake.

All you have to do is lengthen the front of the truck by a few inches.

Should be nothing to it. Either that or move the radiator to the truck bed.

Suuure. Nothing to it. Besides the fact that the wiring will be damn near impossible, especially if you want to run your stock gagues and such.

There is no need to lengthen the front of the truck by a few inches.
Why not install an electric fan ? A lot easier.

This idea of a V-10 is cool, especially a new 3 valve with a blower. It can make sick amounts of power and is unique. Also, the fitment wouldn't be bad at all, but as mentioned, e-fans would be the only way to do it.

Install e-fans is easy cake, won't be a problem.
Does anyone know how much HP and TRQ a 6.8 3V is rated.
Are they still being used on the 2006 f-250s ?
