1997, v6-4.2 cyl 2 missing

1997, v6-4.2 cyl 2 missing
I drove thru about 3 inches of water for about a distance of a block and the engine started missing.
I took off the wires at the distributor end and dried out both openings. No change.
I took out all the plugs except for #2 (passenger side, middle) and put back in. I didn’t get #2 b/c I couldn’t get the plug cap off & was getting impatient at this point b/c it was the last one. No change.
I let the truck idle for 15-20 minutes, no change.
The next day after driving to work, 25 highway minutes each way, I took it to AutoZone, they put their gadget on it & it said that the problem was in #2.
I bought all new plugs & wires. Autolite plat2, APP104 & Duralast lifetime warranty wires.
After 2 hours to change them, there is no change and the engine is still misfiring.

Please, anybody have any ideas?

I read up on this site regarding plug changes yesterday & got some good info!

Thanks for all comments, suggestions, etc...

Dito.

If you want, read up on the Hydrolocking information. It normally only happens on 97's or early build 98's. We all hope it's not this for ya, but we can only hope.
