95 f150 5.8 sensor location

I've got a 95 f150 with a 5.8 in it and am installing
efan, however not being the greatest mechanic I
am not sure where to put the sensor. Should I get
the type that goes in the rad or the one that installs
in the engine. Sure would appreciate advice.

thanks

Find a coolant passage in the intake manifold, as close to the thermostat housing as possible. For the most part, this is likely to be the hottest part of the coolant flow. I would put it in the engine, as this temp remains most constant, since the thermostat regulates temperature. If the engine gets too warm (towing, etc), thermostat will be wide open and coolant will heat to above set temp, thus kicking on your e-fan. Make sure your fan sensor is 10-15 degrees warmer than your thermostat temperature so it doesn't kick on for nothing.
