I have thought of everything from a turbo on my 4.6,a 5.1 stroker engine,a two stroke Detroit diesel 4-53 and now I'm back to the original plan of the V10 hence my name "V10-F150" . It's so easy to go out and finance a new truck but my 97 is paid for and still running great at 350,000 km's....

I know I can fit the V-10 in but it's the electrical I'm concerned about. Doesn't the 5.4 and V-10 use basically the same tranny? I was thinking about trying to get a engine, trany and transfercase all in one and just use the electric activated 4wd so I wouldn't need a linkage. I think I can make this work but if there are any ford guru's out there, I 'd like to hear from you!

yes the v-10 uses the same 4r100 trans. it will be most involved with the wiring issues like what was talked about in the other thread. I also have a 97 paid for, and just swapped in a 5.4 and i like it, but i should have done the v-10 then, now i am gathering parts for the swap. i have been in contact with the ford dealer to determine which ecm to use.

Gee,this could be a race to see who'd be the first to put one in a F-150 4x4 hahah!
I'm still deciding if I should just go buy the dam 6.4 S.D.... Change my mind every other day... Just to tell people though that a V-10 is under the hood....man that would be awsome!
