Vacuum Resevior

I finally traced my rough idle to the vacuum resevior. Two questions. 1. Why did this resevior cause it to idle bad and 2. does it hurt to run it without it? Thanks for all the help.

You're better off with it. Any vacuum leak will affect your idle.
