What's the best way to thin/dilute mineral oil?

I'm glad you replied, you'll understand exactly what I'm talking about.
Our sprint car team is cheap. Very cheap. And the boss wants to thin out the baby oil that goes on the tires so it lasts longer. Also, baby oil right out of the bottle is just a tad too thick to spray nicely in our compressed air spray can. So basically, I need a way to thin it out, but so that it will still serve it's purpose, and without becoming a paint stripper.
After posting this thread, i started experimenting with a 60/40 mix (baby oil/mineral spirits), and so far it seems to be working well as far as not evaporating, and not causing any harm to paint/decals. If you've got a better idea, please share!
