So, does the Tornado really work?
What's kind of scary about this thing is that I've seen it advertised and associated with several, shall we say, "more legitimate" TV shows (they were an official sponsor of a Speed Channel show I saw over the weekend) which is somewhat of a radical departure from things like this in the past, when they were just a trinket sitting in a fancy box at the auto store, or a single listing in the JC Whitney catalog.
If I were associated with any legitimate program or entity, I'd never get within 10 feet of the thing, if for nothing else than the principle of the matter alone.....

The first thing I looked at when I opened this thread was how many posts you had expecting to see a newb with <10. When I saw 232 and a join date of July 2005 I couldn't help but actually read the post.
Unfortunately I'm at work today and tomorrow so no weekend for me
Actually now that I think about it I get double time and a half today, I'm almost making real money.

A quick search on "tornado" in just the engines subforum yeilded these results.
if you look at it the tornado and it's claims carefully and look at what it actually does then you will see that it does do what it says. if it didn't then it would have been shut down ten years ago.
the tornado goes into the intake and "spins" the air which also means it slows air down so less is getting into the engine. it's obviously also a restrictor plate but tornado doesn't like to show off that point. slower air means less air which means less air going past the maf sensor which also means less fuel.
this means that if you press the gas pedal the same distance to the floor as you did before then you will actually save gas by going slower. this could also be acomplished by screwing a 2x4 to the floor of the truck under the gas pedal so it will only go half way.
a little bit of restriction in the intake will give you a little more torque in the low rpm's, like under 1300 so if you watch the infomercials you'll see that 60 year old women are generally the ones they like to put on there because they tend to drive very slow in the low rpm's to begin with.
the tornado would be completely useless to me seeing as i like to drive fast and hit 5000+rpm's quite regularly.

Yeah, the Tornado II coming this summer to an Auto Zone near you. It saves twice the amount of gas as the first (around 140% increase) and gains 3 times the horsepower (35 hp gain)! WOW!
