5.4. Yes I removed the camshaft positon sensor harness and tested for voltage with the ignition switch on. I thought the Throttle Position Sensor got voltage from the same source as the Cam sensor. The Throttle Position Sensor has 5vdc.

Becasue the TPS uses the same reference voltage I would suspect that the Light blue wire going to the CMP sensor is cut. Have you tried wiggling the wire while probing? The connector could be deffective. I would bull back the black covering on the wire loom and probe further back for reference voltage. If it is present further back then the wire is cut and you cannot see it or the connector is deffective. With the Key off probe that lead for continuity to ground.

Got it. The ECM somehow needed to be 'reset'. I don't mean taking the battery terminal off, I mean the programming was screwed up. Anyway a local repair shop was able to get the ECM straightened out.

Thanks for all the input guys.

Since ya'll are talking cam position sensor.....

What does a good shaft (under the "cap") look like? I have a mechanic saying mine's bad, but from what I can tell by reading other posts it's okay. Of course, I've never looked at it when it was "good".
