Who in here hasn't blown a spark plug?

I've read several threads that indicate many of F-150 online's members's trucks are blowing spark plugs. I've also read posts from potential buyers of f-150s that are frightened by this problem. This thread is for members that haven't had the "spit spark plug" problem. If your truck has not ejected a plug, then post here.

2000 F-150 XLT 5.4L 4x4 with 58,000 miles and no blown plug yet. However I've only had this truck since December and I know one of the heads was replaced, so maybe that's why.

2000 F150 5.4L with 142k. No plugs blown yet. What I want to know is what is being done differently in our plug changing procedure that keeps us (so far) from blowing plugs? I am scared to change mine for fear of doing something that might cause it to blow one.

I'm new to the new body style ford, just bought a 97 with the 4.2L v6 engine and with 88k miles the truck has had no problems, head is original and none of the plug wells look damaged. Is it only the v8's that blow them?

Just the contrary, changed the plugs at about 150000 km's and only some had rust on the outside of the plug where socket fits (from not drying proper when washed- my bad). I easily could have cleaned and reinstalled. Plugs are cheap enough and part of routine so I replaced. Only #7 and #8 were hard to change because of fuel rail feed and return connections.

I have noticed alot of blown plugs, what's the deal? I have run premium after the trucks first year, SHM chip requires that. I don't care what anyone says, premium gas keeps things clean.

Ooooh, this should be a great discussion.

Tell me guys, what did you do to your trucks to not blow a plug?

Let me guess, nothing special, because it's out of everyones control to begin with.

This really is a pointless thread IMO.

2000 F150 4X4 with 5.4
No blow yet 71,000
Changed plugs at 69,500
My research shows some trucks do and some don't.
No one knows why
Bigsert insert from www.timesert.com is the econmical and acceptable fix.
