There are two kinds of people here, people who live for trucks and posers.
Posers can only make smart *** comments and they park way out on the south end of parking lot so people with inferior vehicles won't scratch them.
Real truckers will help you anyway they can, and of course like to park as closely as possible to the posers truck out in the south end of the parking lot to annoy them.

Yesterday went to pick up my brother in his '98 5.4 F150 & no.4 plug was completely out of the the head. This is the third time its happened to him, 2 times on number 3.The milage it started at was about 83K 1st time, then at 94K ,now the last time at 106K on no.4.The repair today ,an insert, cost 558$,for no.4.That brings a grand total of all these related repairs to over 1200$.Ford has a serious problem here,by all the info I've read on this subject & is not aknowledging it.
The shop who made the repairs said there are only 3-4 threads holding the plug in,he feels that is a factor.I also have heard added compession from oil getting in from the pcv sys. & coating the pistons with oil related carbon deposites could possibly contribute to this prob.Thats why maybe an oil catch can like a lot of LS1 owners use might be a good idea.
Maybe we should have a poll as to how many owners experienced this problem ,bring it to Ford attn. for a fix.A CA law suit I've seen in other posts have been mentioned.

Rollingon38s - I think people thought you were kidding around because frequent visitors to this board know how much the plug blowout issue has been covered. They didn't mean any harm. Seriously though, this is probably one of the funniest threads I have read in a while!

OK.....
First. driving several hundred miles, for several days with the Check Engine Light on, and not bothering to check out why, was my first clue.
Next, " i skided into this littel turn out in the cayon" sounded a little like a pre-teen. Not something I expect an adult to say.
Third, "so i jamed a stick in there too hold it down" really convinced me this had to be a prank. I mean really....... a stick to hold the plug in?
Sounds funny to me, for some reason.
Then, to top it all off, the truck was driven home, popping all the way!
I guess if this is a true story and it really happened...... well, I don't know. It just sounds like a funny story someone made up.
My apologies to the original poster.
