i can tell you one thing for certain....your check engine light will stay on, it actually shouldent be hard. My buddy had a 98 mustang with a blown( not supercharged the other blown) 3.8 V6 , so heput a carbed 5.0 in it everything works, even the A/C! great gas mileage too. now as far as a carbed maniflod mating with fuel injected heads is beyond me.

The conversion will no longer use the computer or the original distributor.
The whole intake will be replaced with a carb system and needs a low pressure fuel pump and centrifigal advance distributor such as a Dura Spark and it's control box with standard type coil.
The engine has no provision for a low pressure mechanical fuel pump so either needs the front cover replaced and a cam excentric installed or an external electric low pressure pump installed.
Throttle cable hookup needs change.
The air system to the cats and heads will no longer work as designed.
Cat operation may not be to good in the absence if air injection.
Ox sensors no longer have any use. etc. etc.

carb 5.0L

You will be able to remove the fuel injection intake manifold and replace it with a carburetor manifold with no modifications. I did that with a 5.0L i took out of a crown vic. Like the other guy said, your engine light will stay on, just because there are so many factory wires that will be diconnected. Nothing to worry about that though. I would suggest with a 5.0L u should use an Edelbrock 600 carb.
