2003 F-150 won't start, please help!!!!!!!!!

The truck started sputtering a last week at around 60MPH. Then it got to where it would struggle at times just to idle. Today I went to get gas, and after fill up it would'nt start. It turns over but nothing. I went an put on a new in-line fuel filter hoping that it was just clogged, but nothing. Please help, guys.

You have to start by determing if codes are set, then if there is ignition and fuel.
Scan for codes, use a good clip-on timing lite around a COP lead for testing ignition and measure fuel pressure on the fuel rail.
Now before anyone says you can't do the ignition test on a COP engine---- yes you can. These is even timing marks on the front of the engine.
Until you get a lead on what the problem is, everything is a guess.

I don't have a code reader. And I'm assuming the cost a pretty penny.

Always start with the basics. Air, spark, and fuel. We'll assume that the air intake isn't stopped up anyhow. Pull a coil and finagle it to ground on an intake manifold bolt while someone else cranks the truck, look and listen for spark. I'm guessing you don't have a fuel pressure gauge, so try spraying a shot of starting fluid or carb cleaner into the throttle body and see if it'll run for a bit. If it runs for a few seconds and quits, you've got a fuel problem. I won't jump to conclusions just yet, but it sounds like you've got a bad fuel pump.

I had a guy to tell me to check the fuel pressure valve. Gas shot out, and I tried to start it again, but nothing. I've had a bunch of guys on another forum tell to che the IAC.

Just because there's fuel at the rail doesn't mean that there's enough pressure or volume to run the engine.

Basic reader costs $65 at Wal-Mart. AutoZone and other auto parts stores (depending on where you live) will pull codes for free.

Fuel pressure guage costs about $35-40 at any auto parts store.

Crack the throttle 1/4 way while cranking. If there is no change, the problem is NOT the IAC. If it starts, the IAC is stuck closed.

Start with the IAC check. If not resolved, then proceed to the fuel PRESSURE test with a guage.

Many places (AZ, AA, etc) will lend or lease their codes readers, fuel pressure gauges, etc. Call them and find out.
