smell oil at start up

I have 2001 with a 4.6 , I have noticed at start up when I walk around to brush the snow off my windows I smell oil burn off. The truck has only 70.000 miles and I change the oil every 3000 . Since I have noticed this I also noticed worst then normal MPG. what came to mind first was valve seals , but at 70,000 ? any input would be great . thanks

No, It has been a while. This smell is from the tail pipe. today it was 18 degrees at 5:00 am so I could see the blueish smoke comming out . Going by your user name you have bikes, so think of it as being behind a weezed out gixxer going thru town !!! I think you know that smell .
