Coil Breakdown

I've got a 2001 4.6 SC, that I know has a coil going bad, because I have been through this before. Last coil went almost a year before it threw a code. I am thinking about just buying one, changing out one at a time with it in order to get rid of that little obnoxious jerk I get at 1500 rpm. Does anyone know any better way so isolating which coil may be the culprit.

I have a similar problem. Low RPM's usually occuring between 40-50 MPH. Is there anyway to isolate what COP may be going bad, when the truck is not throwing any codes? 01 screw 5.4L

Good luck....

Yes. Use a scanner that is capable of looking at the MISFIRE PIDs and see which one has the high counts.

OK... thanks Steve.

This may be a dumb question, but what does PID stand for?

Thanks again.
