Quintin,
Is any cleanup required after using the Kroil, and does Ford recommend anti-sieze on the new plugs? Also, anyone know a good place to find this stuff (Kroil)? I'm planning on checking some local gun shops this weekend.

Thanks

On my 04 I sure can't see any rust on the engine anywhere of course I am not off roading either. Also was wondering if you have seen any problems with the 5W20 oil in long term high mileage vehicles???Thanx
I've only done two trucks, mine and one at work. Mine had 27K on 'em, and they made all kinds of scary screeching and popping sounds coming out. I had to do one at work to do a compression test on it, it had 17Kish and they all came out with no drama.

I'd just spray a shot of brake clean down the wells to clean up any residue oil (a little goes a long way here; look for some that evaporates on contact). I haven't been told what to put on the plugs, but in my experience, a thin coating of dielectric grease on the insert portion will help a lot in preventing more rust/carbon from building up on the inserts. My local gun store has Kroil in 16 oz spray cans, but I used PB Blaster at the time when I pulled the plugs out of the one I compression tested.

Thanx for the info Quintin, how did your plugs look at 27K as far as wear and carbon?? Is 100K to much to expect from these plugs as ford says they are good for??
