4.9 front oil seal
Any one replace the front oil seal on the 4.9 I6?
IS it a task or is it pretty easy.. whats involved.. Play by play would be great..
Will i need to remove the radiator ect to get acces in the close quarters?

Well, you're stretching my remembery a bit here. hehehe
I once replaced the rod and main bearings in an 83 F150 4X4 with the 300-6. As I recall, I was able to remove the oil pan by removing the motor mount bolts, and lifting the engine a bit to clear it. You may have to disconnect the oil pickup. Just don't remember. The problem with not removing the oil pan when doing the timing cover, is that you break the seal of the pan gasket, and usually break the gasket itself. It's a hard area to get clean of oil so the RTV will seal good. I always liked to remove the pan, and clean it up good, and the block surface, and use a new pan gasket.
