My vote for worst Ford is a Fairmont.

I did not own one, but I had to drive it for work. I don't remember the year for sure, but I think it was an '81 or '82 with an inline 6 cylinder.

Same thing with his Ranger, only it was the turn signal thingy twice (I forgot the fancy name for it), his interior lights started the common Ford problem a few years ago, so he just bypassed the pass. side door to fix the problem, and most of his dash lights went out not too long ago.

The 1.9L HO engine in my 87 FORD EXP I say was my worse engine as it would start to sputter and make the car jerk along and eventuly stall out at highway speeds then start right back up like nothing happened The FORD dealership could never fix it traded that car off after 63000 miles in 4 years.

1981 4 door Mercury Cougar with a 200 inline six. It was a real POS and yes it was a 4 door.

Wow....hearing all of this is making me glad that I'm too young to remember what most of these cars were like...

That was a classic indication of a toasted TFI module. We sole TONS of 'em in the early 90s.

Aside from that, it was a strong engine.... when it ran.

All I have to say is Ford 3.8

That engine had the worst design for head gasket seals and the 3.8 was used for a long time in almost every ford car.

I had a 90 continental...blown headgasket
1989 Ford Thunderbird supercoupe...blown headgasket
1995 ford freestar....blown headgasket.

All with the underpowered 3.8 Can you believe that 3.8 put out only 145 hp in my 1990 continental.
