Anyone besides me use Royal Purple?

Just wondering if anyone besides myself uses Royal Purple in their engine. I use the 5W20. I hear everyone talking about Mobil 1 but wasn't Royal Purple originally built for racing. I know IndyCars use the stuff, I think. Any responses would be appreciated.

Talking

I know the "Perfomance" shows all talk it up real good. But other than that no one really talks about it much. I would like to hear some inputon how well it works too. I use Motcraft 5-20 synthetic blend.

I used 75W 140 synthetic in my rear axle when I recently changed differential fluid. I have always heard nothing but great things about all of their products.

Alot of people still change their oil every 3k. For those people, Royal Purple is just too expensive (or they cant justify the cost anyway).

I've got a '93 Chevy Silverado 2500 extended cab long bed....I've got over 142,000 miles on it...I started using Royal Purple about 5 years ago....I saw a slight increase in hp and mpg..The engine seems to rev at a lower rpm...I also use a K&N oil filter...with the combination of the two...I usually change oil every 6k miles...The used oil is still clear...may even stretch oil changes to 8k...I pay about $5 per quart, so, with the extended miles between changes and better performance...I'd say "go for it" I intend on using it in my '06 F150 XLT supercab.....Just my opinion on the subject...what ever it's worth..

I use it in all my applications, its very good oil, I also am very fond of the mobile 1, I would use and recommend either, personally I prefer the royal purple but like I said both are excellent. Actually I use the same combo as green06 f150 the k&n filter is a great product and I'll tell you why. The 1" head on the k&n oil filter is the best thing in the world especially due to where our filters are located using a traditional oil wrench SUCKS. With the k&n you can use a ratchet and a 1" socket, very handy.

When I was shopping for differential fluid I got Royal Purple 75w140 for about $9 a quart. The cheapest next to R.P. that I could find was Valvoline which was going for about $25 per quart! In this case Royal Purple was much more affordable & most likely a better quality. They even add the friction modifier.
Hey, just my two pennies!

I use royal purple in mine, but there is a caveat to that. I had purchased a 2001 F150 Screw 4x4.... I took it and had the royal put in, and drove it to Alabama (from Texas) The truck had 56k miles on it. The oil pump clogged and fried the motor... Upon further review, there was NO maintenance done prior to my purchase.. and the Royal purple loosened up a bunch of junk in the motor..which, in turn, clogged the oil pickup screen. I do not blame the oil...just the idiot prior owner!

I used it one time in my Ranger when I lived in Texas. Got it free from a buddy for helping him with an oil change.
worked fine, no noticeable increase in MPG or anything.
Drove to Iowa and Minnesota for Thanksgiving. one morning it was about 10 below, truck started ok but chugged and chugged, had to keep foot on the gas for about 10 minutes or it would stall right out. next day is was in the teens and it worked fine. Changed back to regular Pennzoil when I got back to Texas. Drove back up to Iowa for Christmas. Another below 0 morning, truck started fine and ran fine.
Sounds contrary to everything synthetic oils are supposed to do, but that was the experience I had.
