I've searched but couldn't find the exact description and symptoms my truck is having.

There's a ticking sound coming from my truck while it idle and it increases when I step on the gas. It's not a knock, but more of a TICK noise. You can hear it when the trucks idle every 1-2 seconds I guess, and of course the tick speeds up as I accelerate. It sounds like it coming from under the truck in the middle of the engine closer to the passenger side.


Any ideas on what this may be? Thanks!

More likely than not its the injectors. If so many are noisy for many miles and years of service, so I wouldn't worry too much, unless it gets louder, or your truck starts running poorly.

Yea, i really doubt it's anything serious. I just did a plugs/wires/fuel fitler change and my trucks running very Strong. So strong and smooth that it makes the tick amplify more. It's really loud when im on the freeway driving next to the small divider walls. Think it could be an exhaust leak?

Sware I just read something like this not too long ago. I have the same problem, tick tick ticking coming from passenger side. Manifold leak. Got so used to it, I dont even think its there anymore...or is it?

not trying to flame, but whats your oil level? Never know.

Could also be a manifold leak....i hear they're common on V-6's

The oil level is fine sir. I changed it 2 weeks ago. I feel like taking a hammer to each part while im laying under it untill i either make it go away or worse.. then at least i'll know where its coming from.

If icant figure it out tomorrow, i migh trun it by a mechanic this weekend.

please let me know the outcome, as I have the same engine as you do with the same exact noise, I'll try and record it tommorow if i can.
