Since its gotten cold my truck starts good but when i put it in gear the engine dies. The engine restarts fine and runs well the second time. Is this a problem or just because of a cold engine but it doesnt happen all the time and its not always really cold when i dies.

 

Sounds like the IAC (idle air control) is dirty. Do a search. It is common and is very well covered here.
