Changing Oil

I was wondering if anybody has changed their own oil because there is no description in the manual as to if anything needs to be removed in order to access the drain plug or oil filter.

You don't mention which engine you have, but no matter. Every Ford truck I've had (Ranger 4 cylinder, F-150 straight six, F-250 Super Duty 5.4L) I've been able to reach both the drain plug and filter from below. Since you have a 4x4 you should have any problems getting underneath without ramps or jack stands. Good luck.

If this is a new truck, it's first oil change, I would recomend letting someone else change it as the factory installed filter is the ****ens to remove. I just let my dealer do all my changes as they do it for just slightly more than it would cost me. I would also suggest using the reccomended 5-20 Motorcraft oil.
