5.4 Sound

I tried this in the exhaust section first...

Why do the 5.4L's sound so much different in an F150 and an F250? No offense to anyone but I personally like the F250 5.4L sound better. My friends dad has a 01 F150 5.4L with no muffler and its not very loud at all but it has a deep v8 sound. The F250 5.4L sound higher pitched like it has an x-pipe or something.

Also, what makes the 5.4L sound so much different than a 4.6L? I have read on here that a 4.6L is louder and sounds better.

Thanks,
Joey

Couldn't tell you the actual reason. But I could give it an educated Guess.

Could Be The Length Of The System In An F-150 And F-250. Much Longer On the F-250. Could Also Be the Width Of The Pipes, Routing, Y Pipes, X Pipes, Etc.

Any Of Those would probably cause a little bit of sound difference I guess....

Right on Flare. The difference in the routing can totally change the sound of the vehicle. Different mufflers could be used, and the size of the pipe may vary. You 'd have to find a very knowledgable tech to know all of that
